Process and Criteria

The LBAA Eagle Award is presented at the annual meeting of the Brandon Leadership Alumni Association to a member in good standing who has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills. The recipient’s efforts also will have brought more visibility to the Leadership Brandon Alumni Association, and the Leadership Brandon Program.

 

AWARD CRITERIA

  • The Eagle Award will be presented annually.
  • No minimum number of volunteer years is required to be eligible for the award.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Past recipients are not eligible.

       Mike Edenfield (2007)
  • Current LBAA Executive Board members are not eligible.

  • Members of the selection committee are not eligible.

NOMINATION PROCESS

  • Each Alumni member may submit only one nomination per year.
  • Any current Alumni member in good standing may submit a nomination with the exception of members of the selection committee.
  • Nominations must be postmarked no later than midnight of July 3, 2008.
    (Nominations received which are postmarked later than midnight on the above date, will not be considered and must be re-submitted in subsequent years.)
     

Nominations are to be submitted in essay style and MUST include the following:

  • The nominee’s name, company, address and phone number.
  • The year the nominee graduated from the Leadership Brandon Program.
  • Alumni volunteer activities in which the nominee has participated.
  • An explanation as to why the nominee is worthy of the Eagle Award.
  • Name of person submitting the nomination.
  • Other, current year, community and volunteer contributions made by the nominee.

 

To be given consideration, all nomination essays MUST be mailed to the Leadership Brandon Alumni Association at:

SELECTION & AWARD PROCESS

The Award Winner and Two Finalists will be selected and recognized annually, The Award will be given at the LBAA Annual Meeting held in August.

 

The Selection Committee will be comprised of the following:

  • Last five previous year’s recipient of the Eagle Award (In the event that, within 5 years, a past recipient is unable to serve on the selection committee, the prior year’s chairman will serve in their stead.)
  • Jennifer Murphy
  • Ex-Officio members: The LBAA President and President of The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce President. (Both Presidents will have the ability to appoint a designee in the event they are unable to serve.)

 

Roberts Rules of Order shall be the final source of authority of the Selection Committee.

 

The Selection process will be held in closed meetings to maintain the confidentiality of the nominees.

 

Members of the Selection Committee, (including Ex-Officio) are not eligible to be nominated for the award, and are not eligible to make nominations of Alumni for the Award.
