Mardi
Gras Raises Money for Red Cross
On March 27th, alumni and friends gathered at Mojitos in Winthrop
Town Centre to celebrate spring, enjoy good food and drinks and
socialize. Many retailers in the Winthrop marketplace joined in
the fun and paid an entry fee to support victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Alumni raised $900 this year. That check was presented at the last “Lunch
With Today’s Leaders” held on May 1st at Harris Hall.
Attendees
at Mardi Gras enjoyed live music and street performers during the
evening. A grand prize drawing with cash and items valued at more
than $400 was given away at the end of the event.
Participating
vendors in Winthrop were: Downtown Divas, Anew Lifestyle & Wellness
Solution, Bellafia Chocolate Boutique, Mojitos, Regions Bank, King
Solomon & Son’s tailors, Beau Arts Gallery, Optics SoHo,
Railroad Credit Union, H&R Block, Happy Paws and Tails, Allstate,
Heaven Scent, Taylor Morrison homes and M.J. BarleyHoppers.
Take
time to visit these vendors and tell them how much you appreciate
their support of the Winthrop community and the Red Cross.
Sponsors
include John Sullivan, Winthrop Founder, the Greater Brandon Chamber
of Commerce and tbt*, Tampa Bay Times. Be sure and thank these
folks for their support. |
